From eleven competitors to three alarm centres

In 1995 two providers on the Swiss alarm management market realised that it was not really sensible to have eleven competing alarm centres operating in Switzerland. So Cerberus AG and Securitas AG decided to set up a joint venture to be fit for the future in this service sector. Cerberus was the world market leader in automatic fire detectors and became part of what is now Siemens Building Technologies in 1998, via the Elektrowatt Group. As a result, the most efficient service centres for receiving and handling signals and information from alarm systems and technical monitoring devices in each language region came into being 25 years ago under the banner of Certas AG.
