Data privacy

We are pleased about your visit to our website and your interest in the range of Certas AG services. Protecting your privacy is of utmost importance to us. In handling your data we strive to achieve the greatest possible safety and security and your data will be processed carefully and in accordance with the relevant legal regulations. Below we will explain which data will be collected during your stay on our website, how they will be used and we will inform you about your rights.

1. Which data are collected and how are they used?

1.1 Recording

When visiting our website your browser automatically sends technical data which our web server records (server log). The web server is operated by a hoster in Switzerland on our behalf. The recorded data include, namely:

  • the browser ID;
  • the date and time of your access;
  • the IP address the website was sent to;
  • the address of the internet site from which you accessed our website and
  • the pages you have visited on our website.

We use the server log exclusively to ensure the proper operation of our web server (troubleshooting, investigation of misuse, protection from attack attempts). The server log can only be accessed by the hoster whereby no access takes place without concrete grounds. Server logs which are older than 6 months will automatically be deleted.

1.2 Cookies

We employ cookies in order to facilitate your use of our website and tailor it to your needs as well as to optimise our advertising. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer via your web browser.

In the event of your first visit at our website a banner will be displayed asking you for your consent to our use of cookies. If you give your permission we will place cookies on your computer and the banner will not be displayed again during their lifetime. Afterwards, or when you delete cookies, the banner will be displayed on your next visit on our website in order to obtain your consent again.

You can configure your browser so that cookies are not saved and/or you can delete the cookies via your browser at any time. However, this may lead to restricted functionality and performance of our website.

1.3 Evaluation tool

1.3.1 Use of Google-Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, text files that are stored on your computer and which enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information on your use of this website generated by the cookie is normally sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Because of the activation of IP address anonymisation on these websites however, your IP address will be abbreviated beforehand by Google within member countries of the European Union or other signatory countries to the agreement covering the European Economic Area. The full IP address will only be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there in exceptional circumstances.

Google will utilise this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and in addition to provide the website operator with services associated with the use of the website and the Internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. You may prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. We would however like to point out that in this case you may not be able to utilise the entire functionality of this website.

In addition, you can prevent the capture of the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) and its transmission to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available from the following link: Google Analytics Blocker browser add-on.

You can find more detailed information on terms of use and data protection at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.

1.3.2 Google AdWords

This website uses the online advertising program "Google AdWords" and the conversion tracking contained therein. If you have reached our website via a Google advertisement, Google Adwords places a cookie on your computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits specific pages on our website and the cookie has not expired, we and Google can ascertain that the user clicked on the advertisement and was redirected to this page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information gathered with the aid of the conversion cookies serves to produce conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their advertisement and were redirected to a page provided with a conversion-tracking tag. They do not however receive any information that would permit users to be personally identified.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can easily deactivate the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your Internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion-tracking statistics. You can find out more about the Google data protection provisions at http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/
