Data protection guidelines

1. Disclaimer

The author accepts no liability in respect of the correctness of content, accuracy, up-to-dateness, reliability and completeness of the information. Claims against the author in respect of material or immaterial damages arising from the access, use, or non-use of the published information, through misuse of the connection or technical faults are excluded. All offers are non-binding. The author expressly reserves the right to amend, expand or delete parts of the pages or the entire offering or to cease publication either temporarily or permanently without giving specific announcement.

2. Area of applicability

With this data protection declaration, users receive information on the type, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the provider responsible. The legal framework for the protection of data is the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

3. What data is collected and how is it used?

3.1 Logging
When you visit our website, your browser also sends technically required data which is automatically logged by our web server (server log). The web server is operated on our behalf by a hoster in Switzerland. The specific data logged is:

  • the user agent string;
  • the date and time our web page was called up;
  • the IP address to which the page was delivered;
  • the address of the internet page from which you have reached our web page and
  • the web pages you have visited on our site.

We use the server log exclusively to ensure the orderly operation of the web server (troubleshooting, investigation of misuse, attack deterrence). Only the hoster has access to the server log, whereby no access takes place without specific cause. Server logs are automatically deleted after 6 months.

3.2 Cookies
We use cookies to make our website easier for you to use, to tailor it to your needs and to optimise our advertising. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer by your browser.

If you are visiting our website for the first time, a banner will appear on it in which we will ask for your consent to use cookies. If you give your consent, we will store cookies on your computer and the banner will not be displayed again during its lifetime. Thereafter, or if you delete the cookies, the banner will be displayed again on your next visit to our website in order to obtain your consent again.

You have the option to set up your Internet browser in such a way that cookies are not stored in the first place and/or you can delete cookies via your internet browser at any time. This may however reduce the functionality of our website or make it less user-friendly.

3.3 Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, text files that are stored on your computer and which enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information on your use of this website generated by the cookie is normally sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Because of the activation of IP address anonymisation on these websites however, your IP address will be abbreviated beforehand by Google within member countries of the European Union or other signatory countries to the agreement covering the European Economic Area. The full IP address will only be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there in exceptional circumstances.

Google will utilise this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and in addition to provide the website operator with services associated with the use of the website and the Internet. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. You may prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. We would however like to point out that in this case you may not be able to utilise the entire functionality of this website.

In addition, you can prevent the capture of the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) and its transmission to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available from the following link: Google Analytics Blocker browser add-on.

You can find more detailed information on terms of use and data protection at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.

3.4 Google AdWords
This website uses the online advertising program "Google AdWords" and the conversion tracking contained therein. If you have reached our website via a Google advertisement, Google Adwords places a cookie on your computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits specific pages on our website and the cookie has not expired, we and Google can ascertain that the user clicked on the advertisement and was redirected to this page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers.

The information gathered with the aid of the conversion cookies serves to produce conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their advertisement and were redirected to a page provided with a conversion-tracking tag. They do not however receive any information that would permit users to be personally identified.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can easily deactivate the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your Internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion-tracking statistics. You can find out more about the Google data protection provisions at http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/

3.5 Use of external links
Our web pages may contain links to unaffiliated third-party web pages that may in turn use cookies. After clicking on the link, we have no further influence on the collection, storage and processing of any data transmitted directly to the third party as a result of clicking on the link since the behaviour of third parties is of course beyond our control. We accept no responsibility for the processing of such data by third parties. Please consult the data protection guidelines of the third party concerned for information on the purpose and scope of the data collection, the processing and utilisation of the data as well as configuration options for the protection of your privacy.

3.6 Further data processing
We offer you the facility to voluntarily submit data to us via e-mail or contact form in order for example to enable us to contact you directly or send you additional information, newsletters or advertising. You can also apply for vacancies via our online job portal. We ask you only to provide data that we need for the provision of our services.

The login area grants authorised personnel or customers external access to selected programmes. The prerequisite for this is that we have set up and activated this access for you. No additional personal data that exceeds the scope of the internal use of these programmes is collected in the process.

In addition, we reserve the right to further use and storage of the entered data should statutory obligations exist or if required by official or court orders.

4. Will your data be passed on to third parties?

In certain cases, we may be required by law to furnish information to a requesting government agency or court. Otherwise, we will not pass on any data to third parties except with your express consent.

5. For what purposes do we collect and process personal data?

We gather and process your personal data in particular for one or several of the following purposes:

  • Provision and sale of our services and products;
  • Carrying out contracts;
  • Provision, administration and execution of customer communication;
  • Analysis of customer behaviour and optimisation of our offers and marketing

6. What are your rights?

You have the right, at any time, to demand information from us regarding the data we have stored about you, for example its origin, the recipients to whom this data is forwarded, and the purpose for which it is stored. You can also request the correction, deletion or blocking of your data.

If you have granted us permission to use your data, you are entitled to revoke this at any time. This will result in the deletion of your data, provided there are no legal grounds to the contrary. In this case we will block your data in such a way that it can only be used for legally necessary purposes.

If you have any questions regarding the processing of your data, you can contact us in writing at the following address:

Certas AG
Schweizerische Alarm- und Einsatzzentrale
Marketing
Alpenstrasse 20
CH-3052 Zollikofen/Bern
E-mail: marketing@certas.ch

In order to guard against misuse, however, we only answer self-declarations in writing and require evidence of identity. (copy of your passport or ID card)

7. Changes to the data protection declaration

From time to time, it may be necessary to make changes to this data protection declaration, for example due to the development of our website or in response to statutory changes. We therefore reserve the right to amend this data protection declaration at any time. We therefore recommend that you read this data protection declaration regularly.
